DENTURE ADVICE FROM SWINDON

Denture prescriptions.
Who needs to be involved?

Before a denture is made, the clinical plan needs to be clear. The professional involved depends on your mouth and the treatment being proposed.

If you still have natural teeth.

A dentist must be involved in the assessment and prescription for denture care when natural teeth or implants remain. Tell the clinic about recent dental treatment or planned extractions when you enquire.

If you have no natural teeth, a Clinical Dental Technician can provide full-denture care directly within their scope. Ask the team whether anything needs checking before your first appointment.

Making the clinical plan useful.

The laboratory needs the appropriate clinical information and instructions for the appliance. This is different from simply asking for a particular material or tooth shade.

Bring any information your dentist has asked you to provide. The clinic will explain how any further assessment or prescription should be arranged; do not assume an enquiry form replaces it.
